Lloyds Bank deliver live brief to Business students

Share:

Kirklees College level 2 Business students based at Huddersfield Centre and Springfield Sixth Form Centre last term worked on a live brief set by Lloyds Banking Group.

Working with employer partners, Kirklees College focuses on developing students’ employability skills by setting live briefs in partnership with employers to support students in gaining the relevant knowledge and skills needed in the workplace.

The students were tasked with researching banking accounts available to people aged 11-19 and creating a budgeting fact sheet to support young people with their finances.

Following their research, the students presented their findings to a panel, including Hazel and Tez from the Lloyds Banking Group and Jude Flatley, Work Placement Manager at Kirklees College. The students were judged based on how well they followed the brief and presented their findings.

The winning team was ‘Team Icon’ at the Huddersfield Centre which included Leah Ellis, Aiman Mujahid, Maria Numbi and Riy’Ann Sandhu. The winners at the Springfield Sixth Form Centre were Saman Mahmood and Kian Booth.

Jude Flatley, Work Placement Manager at Kirklees College said:

“Our learning programmes emphasise the importance of supporting our students to gain valuable employability skills. Thanks to our employer partners, we can provide young people with real-life work-based situations to help them to learn what is expected of them in the workplace and understand how to apply their knowledge in a practical setting.”
