What is Learning Resource Centre?
Designed to enhance and support your studies by providing access to a wealth of information, Kirklees College boasts six Learning Resource Centres (LRC) across our campus including the impressive LRC spanning for floors at the Huddersfield Centre.
Our award-winning centres have been recognised by The LRC a Council for Learning Resources in Colleges (CoLRiC) Grade One ‘Excellent’ Service, Association of Colleges Beacon Award runner-up, 2015, and was the recipient of the CoLRiC Jeff Cooper Award 2016 for its First Steps Literacy Project which encourages and self-publishes student creative writing work.
The LRC’s innovative and supportive team are also KC Star award winners and nominees.
What can you access at the LRC?
Access to electronic resources including over 5,000 e-books and many relevant databases and information services.
IT and Media Resources
Access to IT and media equipment with the opportunity to borrow laptops, netbooks, cameras and voice recorders.
Access to printed resources including a wide selection of magazines and journals, and over 50,000 books.
