Course Overview
This course is designed to support you on your path to a higher education course in the health science professions. You will develop your skills and self-confidence to progress to university with unrivalled levels of support from experienced and skilled tutors.
This course is delivered online, designed to be flexible to fit around your work and life commitments. You will have a face-to-face meeting one a term and regular Teams meetings to discuss your progress and make sure you can access the tutor support you need, when you need it and monitor progress.
Units on this course will cover various aspects of health, human biology and anatomy to prepare you to study a health science degree of your choosing. You will also further develop your wider understanding through studying psychology and sociology, as well as study skills designed to support you in realising your potential on the programme.
The Access to HE Diploma HSP online course is designed to have no face to face delivery and is learner guided through a series of online resource modules. Therefore applications are subject to conditions of suitability and will be assessed on a case by case interview basis.

A minimum of GCSE English and maths grade C/4 or above and ideally science grade C/4 or above. Please note we will need to see certificates/evidence that you have achieved the required GCSE grades. You will not be able to undertake the course without this.
All applicants must be aged 19+.
If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
You can progress to a number of university degrees, including Midwifery, Nursing, Paramedic Science, Radiography and more.
This course may be eligible for fee remission or an advanced learning loan depending on your personal circumstances.

Many of the degrees this qualification allows you to study open doors to careers within then NHS and a range of healthcare providers.
On the course, you will be assessed via written reports, classroom presentations, professional discussions and practical experiments. At the start of the course, assessments are ungraded to support your study skills and academic writing. There are no exams on this course.
