Course Overview
The Level 5 HND in Manufacturing Engineering develops advanced technical expertise and leadership capability for careers in production, systems engineering and industrial management. The programme builds on Level 4 knowledge and focuses on optimisation, automation and strategic engineering improvement.
You will enhance your ability to evaluate manufacturing performance, manage engineering teams and implement continuous improvement strategies. The qualification supports progression to BEng (Hons) top-up degrees or professional engineering roles within advanced manufacturing sectors.
You will complete a range of modules, including: Professional Engineering Management, Further Mathematics, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Sustainability and Industrial Systems.
As well as excellent pastoral and study support from a dedicated delivery team, the course also focuses much of its delivery on sustainable and renewable engineering. You will be based at our state-of-the-art Engineering Centre in Huddersfield, where you will have access to cutting-edge engineering technology and equipment.

HNC in General Engineering at Level 4 and GCSE English, maths and science grade 4 (C) or above.
Further study or employment in areas such as electrical or communication design, manufacture, maintenance or technical services in the engineering industry.
The cost for our HNC in total is £8000 over two years.
Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer, Analyst, Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Technical Officer.
You will be assessed by a mixture of practical skills-based tests, workplace projects, assignments and online exams.
