Course Overview
This Level 4 HNC in Manufacturing Engineering provides a strong technical foundation for careers in modern production and engineering environments. The programme develops analytical, design and problem-solving skills aligned to industry standards and prepares learners for employment or progression to Level 5 study.
You will study Engineering Design, Engineering Maths, Engineering Science, Managing a Professional Engineering Project, Production Engineering for Manufacture, Quality and Process Improvement, CAD/CAM, Industry 4.0 and Industrial Robots.
You will gain practical knowledge of manufacturing systems, quality assurance and digital technologies used in smart factories. The qualification supports progression into technician-level roles or continuation onto the HND in Manufacturing Engineering.
You will be taught by Engineering experts and all your classes will take place at Kirklees College’s multi-million, cutting edge Engineering Centre in Huddersfield. With some of the best facilities in the industry, you will learn practical skills using the very best, cutting-edge equipment.

BTEC Extended Diploma in an engineering subject at MPP with maths or 64 UCAS points, including GCSE English, maths and science grade 4 (C) or above.
Upon completion of the HNC, students can progress to the Level 5 HND in Engineering (General Engineering).
The cost for our HNC in total is £8000 and has a one year or two year study option.
Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer, Analyst, Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Technical Officer.
You will be assessed by a mixture of practical skills-based tests, workplace projects, assignments and online exams.
