Course Overview
The qualification is designed for people who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish dog grooming treatments on a selection of dog breeds. You will also learn about health and safety in a dog grooming salon and gain an understanding of heath checking, handling and canine behaviour. The qualification is a combination of practical and theory teaching.
Assessment is via developmental portfolio of evidence covering at least 10 different breeds and four different coat types.
Units included within this qualification are: Health and Safety in a Dog Grooming Environment; Promote the Welfare of Dogs conforming with Relevant Legislation; Assess and Plan Dog Grooming Styles and Maintenance of Equipment; Health Checking, Handling and Canine Behaviour, and Prepare, Style and Finish a Selection of Dog Breeds.
