Course Overview
The Level 2 Preparing for an Apprenticeship course is a brand-new programme designed to support learners with SEND and/or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to successfully progress from education into an apprenticeship or employment pathway. This course provides the skills, confidence and real-world experience needed to prepare for an apprenticeship, with specialist support throughout your journey.
This programme is designed to help you build confidence, develop workplace skills and gain valuable experience with real employers. With personalised support and hands-on opportunities, you’ll be well prepared to apply for an apprenticeship in your chosen career area.
During the programme, you will achieve a Level 2 qualification in Employability Skills, attend bespoke GCSE classes in small, supportive groups, receive one-to-one support from a specialist Job Coach, complete a two-week placement with an apprenticeship provider linked to your career interests, and access expert careers advice and guidance to suport your apprenticeship applications.
By the end of the course, you will have the skills, experience and support needed to progress into an apprenticeship programme in the following academic year.

Core Skills Gained:
You will need a minimum of grade 2 in English and maths.
You will progress to an apprenticeship, or other college course.
This course will enable you to secure an apprenticeship in a field of your choice, which will be the first steps in building a career.
You will be assessed through coursework. You will also resit your English and maths GCSE if required.
