Course Overview
Our Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology (Games, Esports and Media) will help you develop a range of creative digital skills. This hybrid year combines Games Development and Content Creation for Esports, and is designed to help you find your passion between these two pathways.
The combined course covers a diverse range of topics, including Game Development and Pixel Art, where you will learn the fundamentals of how games are made, from initial concepts and “retro” pixel art to playable mechanics. You will also study Video Editing and Graphic Design, mastering the software used by YouTubers and streamers to create high-quality, engaging content.
Whether you want to code the next indie hit, produce professional video content, or manage a live Esports tournament, this course gives you the foundation to turn a hobby into a career. You will learn valuable industry skills including game design theory, graphic and digital design, pixel art, video editing, presentation skills and event management.
You will also delve into Presentation and Events, gaining the confidence to speak on camera (shoutcasting) and the organisational skills to run your own live gaming events. You will have access to our state-of-the-art facilities at Huddersfield Centre, including our Esports suite and Macs.

Core Skills Gained:
A minimum of four GCSEs Grade 3 or above to include English and maths.
If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.

You can progress to Level 3 Game Development, Level 3 Esports and Content Creation, or our other Level 3 Creative Digital Courses.
Job roles you can progress to include computer games tester, computer games developer, Esports organiser, web developer, software developer, amongst other careers in the digital sector.
You will be assessed through a mix of written assessments and project work.
