Taylor Hill Animal Centre

This is a specialist eco-friendly centre housing a wide range of animals with an aviary, aquarium, small mammal house, reptile unit and grooming studio. The site also includes a small farm with extensive outdoor facilities and wildlife environments. The centre has been open since 2006 and the building was awarded a Civic Trust Award for its ecological consideration in design. At the front of the building, a small arboretum was created and links made to the adjoining secondary woodland with plans for a new community garden and reptile house in 2023.
The centre offers a variety of programmes for both young people and adults in Animal care and Land-based subjects, including Level 1, 2 and 3 courses and Higher Education courses. It also offers community learning courses which are well placed to support local people to progress in work, or develop the new skills needed for a change in direction. The centre also focusses on community engagement and holds many local events, including charity fayres. The Centre Leader for Taylor Hill Animal Centre is Stephen Finney.
