Apprentice Customer Service Service Advisor at Northern Commercials in Brighouse

A terrific opportunity that has arisen for an individual to work within a busy Commercial Vehicle Service Department. As a proactive member of the dealership's team, you will be required to contribute towards an efficient operation in the Service Department, always ensuring customer satisfaction.


Wage – Paid monthly. The hourly rate starts at £8.09, and this will increase over the apprenticeship period.
Duration – 15 months
Start date – As soon as possible.

Working Week:

Monday to Friday 08.30 am – 17.30 pm with ½ lunch. Alternative Saturday mornings 8.00 am – 12 Noon

You will have the opportunity to work in the different departments to gain a full understanding of the whole operational processes of the business.

Main duties will include:

Reporting to the Senior Service Advisor and Service Manager.

, the day to day running of the Service Department.

Working on various computer systems, SAP, ASSIST, IDM, ggAPD, ANS & Time Management

Administrative duties

Speaking and liaising with customers
by phone and email.

As part of your contract of employment completion of the Apprenticeship Training Programme forms part of your duties as well as helping your personal and professional development; the requirements to complete the programme are as follows:

  • Attend and be punctual for all inductions, lessons and work-based training/support sessions.
  • Complete all required assignments
  • Build up your portfolio of evidence on-going
  • Access support from your tutor, assessor and manager, when required.

Overview of Customer Service Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard

The role of a customer service practitioner is to deliver high-quality products and services to the customers of their organisation.

Your core responsibility will be to provide a high-quality service to customers.

The standard covers the following:

  1. Knowledge
  2. Skills
  3. Behaviours / Attitude

You will complete an End Point Assessment this will involve the following:

Professional Discussion


You are given time off, one day per week to study; you are required to attend Kirklees College, Huddersfield Centre each Wednesday and you will also attend other meetings via Teams to complete work for your apprenticeship. 


What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship?


Opportunity to join the company as a full-time permanent employee, upon completion of apprenticeship.

Progression to other training following successful employment and achievement of apprenticeship.

Desired skills and personal qualities

The ideal candidate for this role will need to be enthusiastic and well organised.

Can communicate in a courteous and professional manner.

Have good computer skills and communication is required.

Excellent timekeeping and attendance is a must.


Maths and English at Grade 4/C or equivalent Functional/Key Skills at level 2 is essential, ability to use Microsoft Office; desirable to have gained a BTech in Business or other relevant subject; work experience is also advantageous.
