Course Overview

At Kirklees College, we understand how difficult returning to college in adulthood can be. Study skills may need development, undiagnosed learning difficulties can become evident, anxiety around assessments is common, and for most adults, returning to education is not only about their own aspirations, it is also about their family’s wellbeing. That’s why at Kirklees College, we believe in a holistic approach to your education.
Modules covered include presentation skills, exam and revision skills, time-management skills and help with anxiety, depression and other problems. They are user-friendly and compliment your English qualification where you will learn new skills to increase your confidence in reading, writing, and speaking. This course will help you to build your confidence and independence at home and at work.
This approach recognises that learning is not limited to formal training, but encompasses your entire experience, both in work and life. Throughout your course, you will meet enthusiastic, professional teachers who will be able to advise and guide you throughout your learning. You will take part in a programme that has been designed to equip learners in FE with a broad range of valuable skills needed in post-16 education.
Classes take place at a number of community centres across North and South Kirklees, including Crosland Moor Community Centre, Greenwood Centre and Holmfirth tech. To find out more please email ace@kirkleescollege.ac.uk.
