A Kirklees College Creative Media student recently experienced the hustle and bustle of a professional film shoot.
Alero Megbele recently went behind the camera on set with renowned local Director Lee D Barnes and Ben Sweet from Film Buddy Online. The production gave Alero a real taste of what it takes to work in what is often a fast-paced world.
The 2nd year student was given the opportunity to capture behind the scenes footage of the production process, gaining hands-on experience that goes well beyond the classroom.
Alero said: “It was a great experience; I learnt a lot and I fancy myself a Producer. Director Lee and Ben were really superb, and the whole cast were amazing. I’m looking forward to working with them again someday.”
Ben Sweet, Founder of Film Buddy Online, said: “It’s always rewarding to have Kirklees College students gaining real experience alongside us, developing relevant skills, collaborating with industry, and working closely with their peers. Alero is a great example, with a strong eye for detail, a great attitude, and always willing to get involved.

Alero continues to make the most of every chance to grow both personally and professionally. She is Vice President of the Student Union at Kirklees College and also recently attended the AoC Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Conference.
After Alero has completed her current course, she is looking to further her education at university and start preparing for a career in this exciting industry.
