Course Overview
This is an excellent course if you want to start a career in groundworks, as it will equip you with the relevant knowledge and skills to prepare you for a career in Construction or Civil Engineering.
You will also undertake two optional modules, lay modular paving and lay and finish concrete, to develop your understanding of groundworks.
This qualification is made up of a core set of mandatory units that will support your practical skills development, and underpin your associated knowledge. The mandotory units are: health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries; knowledge of technical information, quantities and communication with others; knowledge of construction technologies, and cut construction related materials.

Core Skills Gained:
You will need a grade 4 / C or Level 2 qualification in maths and English to start this course.
You can progress to further training at Level 2 and on successfully completing a Level 2 qualification, you can progress into a job role in the workplace, which could be in Construction or Civil Engineering.

The assessment requirements set for this qualification are multiple choice knowledge tests and practical assignments.
