Course Overview
Students will gain a wide range of automotive engineering knowledge linked to practical skills gained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios. Students are involved in vocational activities that help them to develop vocational behaviours (the attitudes and approaches required for competence) and transferable skills.
By the end of Level 4, students will have sound knowledge of the basic concepts of automotive engineering. They will be competent in a range of subject specific skills as well as in general skills and qualities relevant to key areas of automotive engineering.

You will need a Level 3 qualification in Automotive or equivalent qualifications in engineering, and / or relevant work experience.
After completing this course, you can progress to Level 5 HND Automotive Engineering.
This course costs £8,000.
You can progress to a range of careers, such as: Automotive Service Technician, Electrical Technician, Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Technician, Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Technician, Automotive Engineering Technician, Motorsport Technician, Engineering Maintenance Technician, Automotive Systems Technician, Assistant Automotive Workshop Supervisor, Assistant Project Manager, Integration And Test Technician, Assistant Project Manager, Process Technician, Automotive Equipment Technician, Device And Test Technician, Assembly Technician.
A mixture of internal and external assignments along with internally set practical tasks.
