Kirklees College has celebrated the festive season by supporting both its students and the local community through its charity fundraising initiatives.

The annual Christmas Gift Appeal aims to support students who are most in need in the college community. The Student Support Team has been collecting donations and vouchers to help make a difference to the lives of its students over the festive season.

The Alternative Provision has also been collecting donations for The Welcome Centre in Huddersfield, a local organisation who offer a variety of services to young people and families in Kirklees. Staff and students took part in the Harvest to Help campaign and donated food items from their shortages list to those in need in the local community.

This month also marked Christmas Jumper Day 2020. Staff donned their festive knits to raise money for Save the Children. Whilst working remotely, staff members contributed online and shared a picture of themselves wearing their jumper to spread the festive cheer.

The Principal has also been active in supporting these worthy causes on behalf of the college, including the college’s Christmas Gift Appeal and the Huddersfield Mission, a food bank to support people in Huddersfield and the homeless.
