Course Overview
Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, for people looking for a new role or job opportunity. You will be offered an interview with an employer once you complete your course.
To enrol on this course, please email info@kirkleescollege.ac.uk. A 10% contribution to course fees is required if you are self-employed. If you are employed, employer contributions are set at 30%.
You will learn about the role of heat pumps in district energy systems and their future, energy mapping, strategy development, low-energy carbon heating and cooling, procurement of sound sustainable district energy systems, key components of a heat network, maintenance, what can go wrong, meter reading and billing, heat pump installation, and servicing. You will also learn skills to improve your employment prospects.

Core Skills Gained:
You may be eligible to apply for a Skills Bootcamp if you: are aged 19 or over; have the right to work in the UK; live in England; meet residency requirements (we can check this). If you claim Universal Credit, you can apply and continue to claim benefits. Some Skills Bootcamps have additional eligibility criteria, including home postcode.
This course is free if you meet the eligibility criteria. Otherwise, fees are 10% for self-employed (£315), 30% if you are employed (£945).
