Join the college community and open the doors to new opportunities at Kirklees College Pioneer Higher Skills Centre in Dewsbury.

Starting in May, the Pioneer Higher Skills Centre will be opening its doors every Saturday to the community with its new adult and community courses.

Designed for adults aged 19+, these free courses offer adult learners the chance to get involved in the community by learning a new skill, embracing a new hobby or investing in their future.

The community courses cover a range of areas to suit all interests and abilities, from arts and crafts, health and wellbeing, hair and beauty and digital skills. These classes will offer learners the opportunity to meet new people, relax and express their creativity with the help of our experienced tutors.

The majority of the sessions will last half a day with some family friendly that will be suitable for both parents and children, such as the cyber security and coding courses.

Following the installation of ‘WORK’ by world-renowned sculptor Antony Gormley, members of the community will be able to learn more about the sculptor himself, the work and how it was brought home to Yorkshire.

The centre is a Covid-secure site and social distancing measures will be in place. For more information and to reserve a place on one of the courses, please visit the Kirklees College Online store https://store.kirkleescollege.ac.uk/
