What You’ll Be Doing

  • Learning to operate traditional woodworking machinery such as planers, bandsaws, spindle moulders, and tenoners
  • Reading and understanding technical drawings with guidance
  • Assisting with cutting, shaping, and finishing timber to specification
  • Helping to maintain machinery and keep the workshop safe and tidy
  • Working as part of a friendly, supportive team to meet production goals
  • Developing your skills and knowledge in a real manufacturing environment

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Studying or recently completed a course in Wood Machining, Joinery, Carpentry, or a related field
  • Some workshop or tool-handling experience
  • Awareness of workshop safety and best practices
