Apprentice Welder/Fabricator – CTS Bridges Limited

The job will be learned on-site working with experienced, qualified welder fabricators. The apprentice will also be working on-site from time to time, installing the work we have made. The job will involve cutting, drilling, welding, following drawings, accurate measuring, maintaining a clean and tidy work area and being punctual on a daily basis.

Working Week:

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

The duties will include, but wont be limited to:

  • Working alongside qualified welder/fabricators
  • Working on bespoke projects
  • Learning key fabrication skills

Apprentices showing promise will be backed and trained by CTS to the highest level possible.

Your training plan

Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
    At Kirklees College Engineering Centre (Huddersfield) one day a week over the full period of the apprenticeship.

The final year will involve completion of a portfolio and preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA). This measures the skills, knowledge and behaviours outlined in the standard and is carried out by ESFA approved organisations independent from the college.

After this apprenticeship

To become a qualified and coded welder / fabricator.

Extra training or qualifications can be achieved, CTS will train and back anybody who wishes to achieve more.
