Please note: This is an on-site course that is designed for those already working in the plastering trades to upskill in their careers. Please email employers@kirkleescollege.ac.uk for further information on course content and delivery.
On this course, you will master essential techniques for plastering on complex surfaces. You will learn to measure, mark out, mix, cut, apply, fit, finish, and secure solid plaster, along with the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment. You will explore workplace compliance, health, safety and hazard recognition.
On this course, you will master essential techniques for plastering on complex surfaces. You will learn to measure, mark out, mix, cut, apply, fit, finish, and secure solid plaster, along with the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment. You will explore workplace compliance, health, safety and hazard recognition.
On the course, you will attain enabling,fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. You will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence showing how you have met the performance and knowledge criteria for each unit required within the pathway, as directed by your assessor.
You will develop strong occupational relationships and produce intricate external render finishes. This qualification/pathway consists of six mandatory units and three optional units and two additional units. To achieve this qualification a minimum of seven units need to be attained. Mandatory units include intricate internal surface plastering, tool operation, safety protocols, and more. The optional units will allow you to gain expertise in direct bond dry-lining systems and plasterboard installation.
Following completion of this course, you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrated competence to progress to a higher-level qualification in the same or similar occupational area.
