Course Overview
January 2024 sessions will take place at our Huddersfield Centre (starting 30 January) and Pioneer Higher Skills Centre in Dewsbury (starting 1 February). Huddersfield sessions will take place on Tuesday, 12.30am – 2.30pm and Dewsbury sessions will take place on Thursday, 12.30am – 2.30pm.
This beginner’s course goes at your own pace to make sure you understand the basics. You will learn buttons and ports on a computer and what the basic parts do. You will learn about Microsoft Office, using the internet and how to keep yourself safe online. You will discover how to make the best of your smart phone and tablet. At the end of the course, you will have the confidence to try new things and move on to one of our other digital courses.
Digital skills can be intimidating and there are new gadgets appearing all the time. Some tasks that seem simple to some can seem impossible to new users. On this free, friendly course, you’ll learn more about the types of computers and operating systems in use today. You’ll also gain a better understanding of the basic parts of a computer, how applications are used, connecting to the internet and much more.
