Course Overview

THIS COURSE IS FULLY BOOKED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 23/24 ACADEMIC YEAR. It will next be offered to run again in the new academic year, most likely starting in October. The adult part-time prospectus for courses to be offered for the first term of 24/25 academic year will be published in August.

Classes will take place on Tuesday evenings, 5.30-8.30pm.

This course provides you with a basic introduction to DIY joinery around the house.
This 7-week course will provide you with the basic knowledge and skills to carry out joinery tasks, you will learn about health and safety and all about the tools and equipment you will be required to use.
On this course you will you will develop an understanding of joinery tasks such as: making basic joinery joints, fitting skirting boards, hanging doors, installing locks and hinges, as well as erecting shelving.
On completion of this course you could develop you skills further by enrolling on our E3 Award in Joinery or perhaps an alternative DIY course such as bricklaying or plastering. This course will take place on Tuesday evenings from 5.30pm – 8.30pm.

You will need to bring a pair of safety boots (steel toe).
