Course Overview

THIS COURSE WILL NEXT BE OFFERED TO RUN IN SEPTEMBER 2024.

The course is taught by practical demonstrations, tasks and assignments. Designed to give students a broad understanding and appreciation of the floristry industry, learn how to produce designs and gain an understanding of floristry techniques and terminology as well as learning names of flowers and plants.
Areas of study include, how to identify, check and monitor the quality of incoming cut materials, and how to identify and maintain the condition of plants. You will also learn how to construct tied floristry designs, and plan, prepare and construct funeral and wedding floral designs for sale. This course will also provide an introduction to working in the floristry industry and introduction to function decoration using floral displays.

You will need a keen interest in floristry, a passion for flowers and be prepared to commit to 100% attendance.

The cost of this course is £1,260 plus a £134.65 exam fee.
This course can be paid for via an instalment plan.

Assessments will be performed in class throughout the year and will lead to unit grades. You will take an online theory test, consisting of 15 questions on art and design for florists.
