Course Overview
This course is for learners who want to develop specialist 3D design skills and have a background in computing and design, and work in manufacturing or engineering design. You’ll learn how to create 3D surface and solid modelling techniques and it’s ideal if you want to develop specialist 3D design skills to help you progress in your career, or as a refresher in the latest software modelling techniques.
This course will support you in being able to use a CAD workstation safely, set the 3D modelling environment, construct and edit 3D surface models, construct and edit a 3D solid model, apply commands to manipulate a 3D model, apply commands to view 3D models in a variety of display formats and output a 3D model drawing layout.

There are no formal qualifications are necessary for this course, but an understanding of AutoCAD and a related career or interest is helpful.
Upon successful completion of this course you can go onto advance professional courses tailored to individual needs.

You will be assessed through a combination of assignments and an externally set examination.
