Course Overview
This course will provide you with an opportunity for you to study GCSE English Language, maths and biology to provide you with knowledge and understanding of core subject areas in health and social care to support your progression to further learning on the T Level Health or Science at Level 3.
You will be required to complete an industry placement in a relevant sector to support your theory work and your progression to Level 3. You will complete 120 hours of work placement in health or science setting to enable you to develop excellent employability skills and working knowledge of the health and/or science sectors.
You will learn how to provide person-centred care, moving and handling patients, infection control and safeguarding practices. You will study the effects of disease on the body, understand fire safety and be able to offer basic life support and first aid. You will qualify as a Mental Health First Aider and become a Reflective Practitioner with knowledge of equality and diversity.
Upon achievement of this qualification and GCSE grade 4 or above in English Language, maths and Biology, you will be able to progress to our T Level in Health or Science. This Certificate supports progression to further learning or employment within the health and social care or the science sector.
