Course Overview
This Level 2 course will provide you with an understanding of the principles of the travel and tourism industry and equip you with transferable skills to work in a number of roles within the industry. You will learn about the UK and international industry.
You will study full-time at our Huddersfield Centre, where you will be taught by industry professionals and engage in a range of extra-curricular activities to deepen your understanding of Travel and Tourism. Travel and Tourism students also regularly engage with employers in the industry, as work experience is a key part of your studies, preparing you to work in this exciting world.
All students on the NCFE qualification will undertake two core modules: Customer Service in Travel and Tourism, and the UK Travel and Tourism Industry. You will also learn about Travel and Tourism destinations, promotion in Travel and Tourism, UK purpose-built visitor attractions, hospitality in Travel and Tourism, career planning in the industry, and UK coastal tourism.
Whilst on your study programme, you will continue to work on your English, maths and digital skills. If you have not achieved a grade 4 in your English and/or maths GCSEs, you will continue to work towards these qualifications.

Core Skills Gained:
A minimum of 4 GCSEs with the following grades: English at 3 or above and maths at 2 or above and 2 other GCSEs at 3 or above.
If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.

After completing this course, you can progress onto our Level 3 Travel and Tourism courses, or an apprenticeship.
This course will prepare you for a range of careers in the industry, including travel agent, cabin crew, customer service and hospitality roles.
You will be required to wear a uniform for this course. More information about costs and how to buy will be provided before you start the course.
