Course Overview

On this course, you will cover 14 mandatory units that are relevant to the education and childcare industry to prepare you for a future career in early years education or childcare. Whilst on your course, you will develop an

understanding of the education and childcare sector from ages 0 to 19.
During your time on the course you will complete two placements in two different settings, which could include full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools and reception classes. You may either be working on your own or supervising others to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements set by the government for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old.
The T Level Foundation course will cover various subjects related to child development, safeguarding, play, learning and assessment. You will be expected to demonstrate and apply your knowledge and skills in placement and also within your own individual portfolio.
You will be expected to communicate and interact effectively within a team using a full range of skills. You will learn the importance of working independently and taking responsibility for initiating and completing tasks and understanding the impact of your work on others within an early education setting.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs with the following: English at 3 or above and maths at 3 or above and another 2 GCSEs at 3 or above. You will also need a DBS check.
Level 3 T Level Early Years Educator
Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship
You can progress to a career as an early years practitioner, nursery nurse, teaching assistant or employment within the early years and education sector.

You will be continually assessed through written assignments, presentations and a range of other formative and summative assessment methods. You will also be assessed in your placement by a workplace assessor.
