Course Overview
Throughout the course, you will undertake a range of practical and theory-based units that will help improve your musical skills by allowing you to practice a variety genres and instruments.
You will be required to work individually and in groups to produce music, perform to an audience and write reflective reports about your work. You will need to demonstrate your understanding of a range of musical styles from different eras and be able to create your own music inspired by different genres.
You will enhance your employability skills through learning specifically designed to get you ready for working in the industry. You will learn about different industry occupations, the infrastructure of the music industry, routes to employment and develop your commercial awareness of the industry. As part of this aspect of the course, you will be asked to create a presentation about your own personal development plan.
As so much of this course is hands-on, this is the perfect choice if you are passionate about music and have previous experience of playing and performing.

Core Skills Gained:
A minimum of 4 GCSEs with English at 3 or above and maths at 2 or above and 2 other GCSEs at 3 or above.

Students can seek employment in roles such as: music producer, freelance performer, promotor and music teacher.
You will be continually assessed throughout the course through a combination of written and practical projects.
