Course Overview
On this course, you will learn about general construction processes in our dedicated learning area. Regardless of the specific pathway you have chosen, students on the bricklaying pathway or the carpentry and joinery pathway will learn the core content of this T Level together. Both these T Level pathways are designed to help you on your journey to more advanced levels within the industry, such as site management.
You will cover topics that will help you gain an understanding of the joinery industry. Our industry experienced tutors will also teach you the techniques required to use a range of hand and portable power tools to complete your desired product.
On this course, you will learn about general construction processes in our dedicated learning area. Regardless of the specific pathway you have chosen, students on the bricklaying pathway or the carpentry and joinery pathway will learn the core content of this T Level together. Both these T Level pathways are designed to help you on your journey to more advanced levels within the industry, such as site management. On the carpentry and joinery pathway, you will cover a mixture of site and architectural joinery, where you will make timber products, such as doors, frames and windows. You will also learn the skills and knowledge to create more complex joinery, such as bay windows or curved doors.
You will also undertake a minimum of 315 hours work in an industry placement. Your placement will start in the second year of your studies and be taken in a set block of weeks to give you the chance to gain real experience in the construction industry in your chosen pathway. You will be supported in finding your placement.

Core Skills Gained:
5 GCSE grades 4 or above must include Maths and English.
