Course Overview

On this course, you will cover topics that are relevant for a future career in software production. Whilst on your two-year course, you will develop an understanding of how digital technologies can impact businesses regardless of the industry they are in. You will learn how to use different types of data in software design. You will understand how data is stored, organised and grouped in the system and the relationship between different data.
As part of this T Level, you will spend six hours a week programming and learning about Python, a high-level programme language that allows you to write code for small and large-scale projects. You will also learn with
Raspberry Pi, which will teach you more about programming and how to apply it to fun, practical projects.
The course will also provide you with real-life practices and an understanding of emerging technical trends that you can use in future roles. This includes Augmented Reality (AR), where you will learn how computer-generated images can interact with the real world and artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, which you will learn about using our AI dog.
This course also covers physical, virtual and cloud based digital environments, including working on websites and databases. You will also learn about how digital technologies can identify problems and how to use them to find solutions. You will also undertake a minimum of 315 hours/45-day industry placement with an employer to apply your new knowledge and skills in a workplace setting.
