Course Overview
This specially designed study programme has been developed to prepare you to progress to the T Level Motor Vehicle course after one year at college. You will gain a Level 2 Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles and most of your course will be made up by the same modules as the certificate, with some additional components added in to prepare you for the T Level.
The T Level modules on this course will require you to demonstrate your knowledge and skills in relation to removing and replacing light vehicle electrical components, and light vehicle combustion engine mechanical, lubrication and cooling system units and components. You will also be required to prepare an industry presentation and take part in a professional discussion to pass these units.
As part of the Level 2 Certificate elements of the course, you will have the opportunity to cover a wide range of skills and knowledge by taking a combination of mandatory and optional units. Some of the key modules on this course include routine light vehicle maintenance, replacing engine units and components, replacing electrical and chassis units and fuel, ignition and exhaust systems.

Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and maths.
