College IT Systems

As a student at college you automatically have a college account in Office365, this includes a college email address.

Your email account can be reached via Office365 – https://portal.office.com
Your email address is your enrolment number <enrolmentnumber>@kirkleescollege.ac.uk
Your password is your date of birth (DDMMYYYY).

If your course requires you to submit coursework, or access online resources this can be done via your Office365 account. Information on how to login to Office365 and the College VLE can be viewed here:

If you have any queries about your account please contact the LRC library@kirkleescollege.ac.uk

2FA (Two Factor Authentication)

2FA stands for two-factor authentication, which is a way of verifying your identity online. It means that you need to provide two pieces of information to log in to a website or an app: something you know (like a password) and something you have (like a phone or a code). This makes it harder for hackers or cybercriminals to access your data, because they would need both factors to break into your account. 2FA is important for college systems because they contain sensitive information about you, your grades, and your course. By using 2FA, you can protect your privacy and security, and prevent unauthorised access to your college account.

You will need to setup 2FA if you want to access college systems such as your email when offsite, its really simple to do, if you have a smartphone we recommend downloading the Microsoft authenticator app, but if you only have a basic phone you can receive text messages with a code.

We have produced two short videos showing you how to setup 2FA which can be accessed on the links below
