This week, we were pleased to welcome Alex Ross, a local DJ and music producer from Huddersfield, to our Huddersfield Centre.

Alex, who has worked with the likes of Leona Lewis, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, OneRepublic, Mabel and Craig David has amassed over 40 million streams with his hit releases, ‘Dreams’, ‘Close Enough’ and ‘Deep in Your Heart’.

Alex’s most recent single, ‘Clothes off’, is a piano house remake of Jermaine Stewart’s global smash hit from 1986 and it reached number 9 in the UK iTunes Dance Chart last week.

Alex came in to speak with our Music students about his journey as a music producer, the route to success in the music business and our students’ personal ambitions before he led a Q&A session and performed live demonstrations to provide inspiration to those hoping to make it in the industry.

Steve Plumstead, Curriculum Area Manager for Creative Industries said:

“It was fantastic to witness music producer Alex Ross come and speak at our Huddersfield Centre.

Alex gave our Music students some fantastic tips about how to create their own music and how to succeed in the business. It was a brilliant experience for our students to ask an industry professional their questions.”
