This National Apprenticeship Week, Kirklees College will be hosting a virtual event to show employers how apprentices can help build the future of their business.

The 14th annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships, taking place across England, will showcase the positive impact apprenticeships can have on communities, local businesses and regional economies.

Through training and retraining apprentices, businesses can equip their employees with the knowledge and skills needed to future proof their workforce. Investing in apprentices can also help employers to achieve a real return and realise the business benefits of apprenticeships.

Whilst the pandemic has proved challenging for many businesses, the college has remained committed to its apprenticeship programmes and worked with its employers, such as Fox’s Biscuits, Aye! Agency, Timothy Wood, to ensure that apprentices’ training meets their requirements.

From Monday 8 – Friday 14 February, the Employer Engagement team is inviting employers to book a virtual 30-minute drop-in session via Microsoft Teams with a team member with expertise in their industry. Sessions will be available all week between 9am – 5pm.

The event aims to offer advice to employers interested in apprenticeships and guidance on the benefits of hiring an apprentice, including the additional incentive payments businesses can claim for taking on a new apprentice until 31 March.

To book a free appointment, please contact the Employer Engagement Team by calling 0800 781 3020 or emailing employers@kirkleescollege.ac.uk.
