Fashion HND Level 5 (Part Time)

HND

This course will allow you to explore and experiment with different aspects of fashion and textiles taking part in a series of creative briefs, developing your ideas through research, drawing and fabric manipulation. You will learn textiles processes, manufacturing techniques, pattern drafting, the technical aspects of fashion promotion and illustration, as well as using digital software.

Course Overview

The practical nature of the programme encourages individuality and creativity. It allows you to explore and experiment with a broad range of materials, techniques and processes, in a safe and well-equipped environment which includes Industrial and domestic sewing machines, digital fabric printing and digital embroidery machine and Mac studio equipped with latest CAD software.
It will culminate in an end of year exhibition giving you the opportunity to showcase your work in a professional setting to members of the public and industry professionals.
You will also have opportunities to take part in live projects and competitions, go on regular visits and trips to museums, galleries and exhibitions as well as fashion events and trade exhibitions.

A HNC level 4 or equivalent subject related qualification and GCSE English and maths at grade 4/C or above.
Following the Fashion HNC you can progress on to the HND course or into industry.
You could go on to work as a Fashion Designer, Pattern Maker, Tailor, Fashion Buyer, Textile Designer, Stylist
