Students get a taste of the high life at Jaguar Land Rover
Students and staff from Kirklees College’s HNC / HND Computing and Business courses were treated to an exclusive tour of the Jaguar Land Rover site in Liverpool last week, as they gained an insight into the different business functions within the company, and the use of Artificial Intelligence.
Sixteen students and three staff members learnt about the ‘Just in Time’ ordering inventory systems, and were treated to special demonstrations about Artificial Intelligence and the role it plays within the company, with a fascinating look at robotics at work.
“Touring the plant gave the students the chance to witness the variety of different roles on offer and will hopefully encourage some of them to consider a career in the motor industry in the future.
I would like to say a big thank you to Jaguar Land Rover Liverpool for making this happen and for their continued support. The day itself was excellent and the students really enjoyed it,” said Kirklees College Lecturer Liz Sharpe.
