Everything you need to know

Some courses may require you to dress in accordance to the industry standards, for example, chef whites for kitchen classes and tunics for Hair and Beauty, but the rest of the time you can wear what you want.

Yes. When you enrol at college just bring your phone with you and we will show you how to link to the FREE college Wi-Fi.

Yes. We have a fully equipped gym at our Huddersfield Waterfront Centre which offers FREE membership to our students. The gym includes free weights, cardio machines and exercise classes.

We have our very own Starbucks which is based in Landings 72. This is one of the college restaurants which is available to students.

T Levels are new two-year courses, developed in collaboration with employers and providers so that the course meets the needs of the industry and prepares you for the world of work. 

T Levels are two years of full-time study but also include an industry placement. Your time will be split with 80% in the classroom learning and 20% on your industry placement with an employer to help give you the skills for a future career.

Yes. Approximately 500 of our Level 3 learners enrol at some of the country’s top universities every year. They have gone onto study some amazing degrees including Optometry, Zoology, Criminology, Midwifery and many more.

You will pick one subject to study full-time. Your chosen subject will form part of your study programme which is designed around your individual needs, your education and employment goals.

We are dedicated to providing our students with the best education experience possible. As part of your course, you will do at least 30 hours of work placement, to help you gain an insight into an industry, build your confidence and learn skills that are valued by employers.

Vocational courses combine theory and practical learning that relate to a specific job or career sector you are interested in working in. You will study for approximately 18.5 hours a week to develop advantageous skills that employers want and should increase your chances of securing a job within your preferred area.

 

With an Apprenticeship, you will earn a wage whilst you work. It’s usually four days a week working, supported by one day a week of study at college. Employment must be secured to become an apprentice.
