After a proper induction to the business, a personal development plan will be drawn up for you. It will outline each of the steps you’ll need to take to realise your ambitions and goals of becoming a fully-fledged Accountant.

Your typical day will involve:
- Being part of a talented team, adding value to the exceptional work we deliver
- Preparing year-end financial. statements for a wide range of clients
- Calculating corporation and personal tax liabilities, whilst coming up with tax planning ideas
- Cracking on with your personal development plan – shadowing, questioning, and learning to help you achieve your ambitions and be victorious in your AAT studies
- Building long-lasting relationships with clients and wowing them daily

What will you be studying
You’ll study towards completing your apprenticeship which includes the professional AAT qualification; the starting point, AAT Level 2 certificate involves learning all about double entry bookkeeping, journals, balancing the bank statement then once you’ve passed, maybe you’ll be ready and progress to Level 3 AAT where you’ll undertake advanced bookkeeping, complete VAT returns and prepare final accounts, opportunity to further progressing to Level 4 and beyond.
As part of your training contract you’ll attend Kirklees College, one day per week; this study time is paid by the company. The cost of the apprenticeship course is also funded by DJH, including your books and AAT registration/membership.
