What will the apprentice be doing?
The job role is as follows:
- Electronic component inventory control
- Issuing of free stock and creating shortage lists from project Bill of Materials
- Receiving goods and processing delivery notes and invoices
- Raising and expediting purchase orders
- Collating costing information for sales quotes
- Sales order processing and customer relationship management
- Customer liaison for service and warranty enquiries
- Liaising with suppliers to create stock buffers and call-off schedules
- Updating production records as goods are despatched
- Arranging forward logistics
- Actioning emails and receiving and directing phone calls
- Completing general office duties such as filing, data entry tasks and visitor hospitality
- Contributing to continuous improvement processes
- Personal development and learning activities
For the right candidate there is opportunity to progress internally and take up further responsibilities in project planning, supply chain management, budget control and business development. This could also be the start point for a candidate demonstrating adequate experience.
- You should have reliable maths skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, decimal placing and percentages
- Data analysis and statistical mathematical skills would be an advantage
- Competent user of Word and Excel

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Standard, covering the required Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours.
1 day to study at Kirklees College, this is part of your contract of employment.
Your day release will take place at the Huddersfield centre.
Functional Skills 2 examptions if candidate has C/4 or equivilent is required.
An End Point Assessment will take place after 15 months. The EPA will involve a Multi Chouce Test, Presentation, Work Based Project, Observation, showcase of portfolio and professional interview/discussion.
