What will the apprentice be doing?
The role will include various legal administrative duties with the aim to develop and have more responsibility during your apprenticeship.
The role will include some of the following areas:
- To support our legal team by performing general administrative duties including typing correspondence, minuting meetings, photocopying, filing, faxing, record keeping.
- Providing excellent customer services to our clients, through incoming and outgoing calls, emails, face to face meetings or by correspondence.
- Conduct legal research and gathering relevant information to progress a client matter.
- Ensuring records are meticulously maintained and up to date.
- Interacting with clients and other parties to facilitate communication and to support case management.
- Assist Open Law in maintaining compliance with Ant-Money Laundering Regulations by providing through support in compliance checks, documentation, and reporting, ensuring adherence to all legal standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software.
- Understanding and following all relevant Open Law policies and procedures.
As part of your contract of employment completion of the Apprenticeship Training Programme forms part of your duties as well as helping your personal and professional development; the requirements to complete the programme are as follows:
- Attend and be punctual for all induction sessions.
- Attend and be punctual for all lessons.
- Complete all required assignments by the required deadline.
- Build up your portfolio of evidence ongoing during your apprenticeship programme.
- Access support from your tutor/assessor as and when required.
- Access support from your manager with regards to any evidence requirements or support as and when required.
- Attend all work-based training & support sessions.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The standard you follow will be dependent on previous experience. Should you not meet the requirements of the Business Administrator Level 3, you will be offered the level 2 Customer Service apprenticeship, on successful completion, you may be offered the opportunity to later progress onto the level 3 qualification.
Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
The responsibilities of the role are to support and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with internal or external customers. With a focus on adding value, the role of business administrator contributes to the efficiency of an organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. The flexibility and responsiveness required allows the apprentice to develop a wide range of skills.
The business administrator is expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity – showing a positive attitude. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopting a proactive approach to developing skills.
The business administrator is also expected to show initiative, managing priorities and your own time, problem-solving skills, decision-making and the potential for people management responsibilities through mentoring or coaching others.
You will cover the necessary Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours, gather evidence and attend workshop / taught classes throughout the duration then complete an End Point Assessment.
The End Point Assessment involves:
- Portfolio Development
- Presentation
- Multi-Choice Test
- Professional Observation
- Professional Discussion and
- Interview
You will be given paid time off for study to achieve your apprenticeship.

Opportunity to join the company as a full-time permanent employee, upon completion of apprenticeship.
Progression to other training following successful employment and achievement of apprenticeship.
