Our Huddersfield accountancy team are friendly professional Yorkshire folk who provide our clients with a service they can rely on.
This fantastic opportunity will include undertaking various accounting duties to include:
- Preparation of accounts, including bookkeeping, processing and completion of tax returns for a variety of different clients
- Preparation of annual and management accounts
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Dealing with clients over the telephone and by email in a professional manner
- Produce reports as and when required
- Maintenance of paper-based and paperless filing systems
- Working with various databases to extract and input data with a high level of accuracy
- Use Microsoft Packages in particular, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Work to deadlines/timescales
- Dealing with the postal duties as and when required
- Assisting all members of the team as and when required
- Ensure that the Policies of the Company are observed and that good practice is encouraged, particularly in the areas of
- Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, confidentiality and the observance of clients’ rights and wishes
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the organisation which is relevant to your post within the company to meet the overall business objectives.
You are provided with time off for study. As part of your contract of employment completing the Apprenticeship Training Programme forms part of your duties, this mixture of studying and working is fantastic for your personal and professional development; the requirements to complete the programme are as follows:
- Attend and be punctual for all induction sessions, lessons and work-based training/support sessions
- Complete all required assignments by the required timeline
- Build up your portfolio of evidence on-going
- Access support from your tutor/assessor and manager, as and when required.

We will be delivering the industry recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technician) Certificate in Accounting Level 2 as part of this apprenticeship standard.This qualification comprises four mandatory units:
- Introduction to Bookkeeping
- Principles of Bookkeeping Controls
- Principles of Costing
- The Business Environment
You will complete Online exams and you will be required to attend Kirklees College, Huddersfield one day per week as part of your apprenticeship.
