  • Maria Gray

Health and Social Care Level 2 Workplace Diploma

“I found the course to be great. I really enjoyed meeting people, getting out and mixing and learning new things because I’d been suffering a little with anxiety and it helped me out of it.

“I would recommend the course – it definitely opens doors. To anyone in the same situation that I was, I would say go to college and don’t be afraid of going for your goals! I’m so glad that I did!”

  • Lucy Peacock

Beauty Therapy Level 2 NVQ Part-time

Lucy was working in HR but decided to start her own business LP Beauty in 2016 after doing the college course part-time.

Lucy said: “I started my business in July 2016 and it has continued to grow from then, mainly through word of mouth/client recommendations. It got to the point where I was busy enough to take the step to focus on my business full-time.

“My previous job role helped me to develop good customer service skills, deal well with working under pressure and organise my time and myself well – these different skills have helped me and will continue to help me with the running of my business.

“I love my job and working for myself. I’m so glad I decided to follow my dream and that the course at Kirklees College enabled me to do this!”
