There’s going to be a Kirklees College Takeover at Huddersfield Town’s Premier League game against Swansea City on Saturday.
Staff and students will be showcasing some of the courses on offer in various parts of the John Smith’s Stadium both before the match and at half-time.
Some of the students will be doing work experience including stewarding, working in the Huddersfield Town Megastore and in catering areas, while others will be talking about their experience of doing an apprenticeship.
There will also be a dance from performing arts students and acoustic music played. Animal care will be taking along some special friends to meet the crowds and hair and beauty will be doing face-painting!
There will also be the chance for fans to sit and have their photo taken in the college’s rickshaw, which was refurbished by Motor Vehicle students at the college for a charity event.
The event will highlight upcoming open days at the college and also promote the end of National Apprenticeship Week.
National Apprenticeship Week runs from 5-9 March. Kirklees College offers the widest range of work-based learning opportunities to young people in Calderdale and Kirklees and is currently in the top five in the UK for providers training over 1,000 apprentices.
