September 2014 Entry
Kirklees College offers an exciting programme of degree level courses at a range of centres. Choose from animal care, business, childhood studies, counselling, creative industries, engineering, IT or teaching.
The college has been praised by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for its excellent links with industry, outstanding access to our qualified, experienced staff, support at every stage and fabulous, specialist facilities. Students on higher education courses at Kirklees College also rated it highest in West Yorkshire in the latest National Student Survey.
New courses for 2014-15
Kirklees College is pleased to announce three exciting developments within its higher education offer for 2014.
From 2014, the college intends to offer:
- HNC/HND Equine Management,

These changes have been implemented to meet and satisfy industry requirements, along with responding to the needs of students.

Why study at Kirklees College?
In the National Student Survey 2013, Kirklees College ranked number one in West Yorkshire for overall student satisfaction, alongside two other Higher Education Institutes (HEI), from a total of ten.
Other results demonstrated just how satisfied the higher education students are with their experience at the college and included the following:
- The teaching on my course (87%)
- Supportive academic staff (86%)
- Personal development opportunities (91%)
- Overall satisfaction (87%)
In 2012-13, Kirklees College has increased its overall satisfaction rating from students on HE programmes by 2% since 2011-12. The college is also 2% above National Benchmarks.
In the West Yorkshire region, Kirklees College also ranks number one, alongside two other Higher Education Institutes (HEI) providers out of a total of 10 HEI providers in the region.
The statistic rivals local universities, Leeds Met (81 per cent) and the University of Huddersfield (86 per cent), despite significantly lower tuition fees at £5,995.
Other further education colleges in West Yorkshire saw satisfaction levels at a lower level than Kirklees College with Calderdale College (79 per cent) and Bradford College (76 per cent).
We are delighted with these excellent National Student Survey results. Last year, the Quality Assurance Agency awarded the college their highest grading possible. This was exceptionally pleasing but, for me, the endorsement of our students is even more gratifying.
