Media OCR Diploma Level 2
Overview
You will spend up to 15 hours a week developing practical skills, such as video, radio, photography and animation. You will study through a programme of skills-based workshops and supporting classes, which will introduce you to issues and debates within the media industry.
You will study the following mandatory unit:
- Introducing media products and audiences
- This unit aims to allow you to understand media institutions, how they work and the products they produce. You will understand production processes, target audiences, distribution and marketing through the analysis of media products.
You will also study 5-6 optional units including:
- Planning and producing a media product
- Photography for media products
- Comics and graphic novels
- Film and TV media products
- Sound for media products
- Animation production
Entry Requirements
A minimum of 4 GCSEs with the following grades: English at 3 and maths at 2 or above, and 2 other GCSEs grade 3.
Assessment Methods
You will have written assignments, research projects, practical productions, case studies and presentations.

As a full time student, under the age of 19, you will not usually need to pay any course or examination fees.
