Xplorer Level 2

This course offers you a great opportunity to take part in voluntary work and improve your employability. The course will also help you improve your maths and English skills.


You will work towards an Employability qualification at Entry 3, Level 1 or Level 2 and improve your English and maths skills. You will have the opportunity to take part in voluntary work and improve your employability and work related skills.

Entry Requirements

Foundation Learning course entry requirements include a minimum of Milestone 7/8.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs with the following grades:


  • English and maths at 3 or above, and
  • 2 other GCSE’s grade D or above


  • A minimum of four GCSEs grade D or above, including English language, or
  • a level 1 qualification at overall merit grade, including English and maths at level 1.

Assessment Methods

Your portfolio of work will be assessed throughout the year.


You can progress on to a course in your chosen vocational area.

You can go on to do an Apprenticeship after completing this course.

Fees & Funding

As a full time student aged 16-18 you will not usually need to pay any course or examination fees. All full time students under 19 are eligible for a half fare bus pass.

You will need to provide your own stationery, writing equipment and calculator.
