The aim of all our learning resource centres (LRCs) is to help maximise your potential and enhance your learning experience within a safe, welcoming and vibrant environment conducive to study.

The LRC are at the centre of all teaching and research programmes, providing access to a range of high quality printed, electronic and IT resources.
Our aim is to support learning through the diversity of our centres, promoting equality for all our learners.
Library and IT facilities can be found across six Kirklees College Centres:
- Batley School or Art, Wheelwright– Library with IT facilities
- Brunel House– Library with IT facilities
- Engineering– Library with IT facilities
- Dewsbury – Library with IT facilities
- Highfields – Library with IT facilities
- Huddersfield – IT & Media Suite and Library with IT facilities, situated across four floors
All library centres have friendly and dedicated staff to assist with research, offer advice on the best resources for your assignments and help develop your study skills.
The library catalogue (WebOPAC) is accessible online, easy to use and provides up-to-date information regarding the availability and location of materials for loan.
In addition to books, a large collection of journals and DVDs are available for loan.
This comprehensive range of printed and electronic resources offers support to both further education and higher education students.
The libraries also offer IT facilities for your research and assignment work.
IT & Media Suite
The IT and media suite team are professional, friendly and are trained to help with staff and student's needs.
They have a wide spectrum of knowledge and expertise in using different office applications and the internet.
The IT and media suite facilities are on Floor 1 and 4, in the Huddersfield Centre, with drop-in facilities available for students to use one of the 116 high-spec networked computers for blended learning, research and assignment work.
The LRC also offer printing, photocopying, scanning and laminating services to enhance the presentation of your work.
Media equipment loan service
ALL centres have a range of up-to-date and state-of-the-art media equipment for loan to students and staff such as:
- Laptops, netbooks and tablets;
- Flip and Disgo video cameras;
- Camcorders and voice recorders;
- Desk top projectors; and
- Voting systems.
